How Do I Make an Appointment?

If you would like to make an appointment or learn more about our services please give us a call or send us an email. A complementary and no obligation initial phone consult will help determine if our services are the right fit for you and your child. If you decide to proceed with services we will schedule an initial assessment for your child at a time that suits you.

What is an Initial Assessment?

Prior to commencing therapy, every child will complete an initial assessment that will last 60-90 minutes. The assessment is normally a fun and stress-free experience for your child. For young children this is completed through play and games. During this time we will speak with you about your concerns, observe your child in interactions, conversations, and play, and complete some formal testing if appropriate. The purpose of this assessment is for us to understand your concerns and answer your questions, determine if your child needs speech therapy, understand your child's areas of strength and areas requiring support, and develop your child's therapy plan and goals. You will receive a comprehensive written report with the assessment results within three weeks.

Do I Need a Referral From a GP?

No, you do not need a referral from a GP to see a speech pathologist, simply call us to book an appointment. If you would like to access Medicare rebates for your child's speech pathology sessions you will need a Chronic Disease Management Plan from your GP.

How Often Will My Child Receive Therapy?

The frequency and duration of therapy sessions will depend on your child and their needs. Typically, we provide weekly therapy sessions for one hour. Some children need more or less intensive services. We are flexible and will work with you to develop the right therapy plan for your child.

How Long Will Therapy Take?

Every child is unique and it is difficult to predict the duration of therapy. Depending on the nature and severity of your child's difficulty, therapy could last a few weeks or months. Children with more complex needs may require longer term support. We conduct regular reviews of your child's therapy program and progress and work together to develop ongoing intervention plans.

How Much Does Therapy Cost?

Fees vary depending on the nature of the initial assessment and the duration and location of therapy sessions. Please contact us for a current fee schedule. Your child may be eligible for rebates through Medicare or funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
